No. The absence of a written contract does not extinguish a right. Correspondence, invoices, bank transfers, WhatsApp exchanges and witnesses can all establish a claim, subject to the rules of evidence and the value in dispute. When should I apply for a precautionary attachment?

When there is a genuine risk that the debtor will move or dispose of assets before judgment. Attachment is a protective measure sought with or before the claim, and generally requires legal grounds and a guarantee. Applying late can leave you with a judgment that has no practical value.
